These VERY easy flour tortillas (with pictures!) { has been the most popular recipe at Simply Recipe for over 37 years. Million from people make it every morning. Why? The flour tortillas are now ready to be used for your favorite recipe, such as burritos or tacos. Flour tortillas are fairly easy to make, and these homemade ones are so much softer and silkier than mass produced store brand tortillas! Using butter or lard in the recipe and also a fair amount of salt makes them full of flavor, too.
Making flour tortillas from scratch is really simple! All you need is some all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour if you want to make them whole grain), baking powder, salt, oil and warm water. First, mix together the dry ingredients in a large bowl - flour, baking powder and water. You can have VERY easy flour tortillas (with pictures!) using 6 ingredients and 9 steps. Here is how you cook that.
Ingredients of VERY easy flour tortillas (with pictures!)
- It's 2 cup of all-purpose flour.
- It's 1/2 cup of flour- (for kneading).
- It's 1/2 tsp of salt.
- You need 1/2 tsp of baking powder.
- Prepare 3/4 cup of skim milk.
- Prepare 2 tbsp of vegetable oil.
How thin you roll your tortillas will also determine how long you'll need to cook them on each side so that they remain soft but aren't too doughy on the inside. VERY delicious, easy and fast to make. Substitute apples with peaches or cherries if desired. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
VERY easy flour tortillas (with pictures!) instructions
- Combine all of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
- Mix with your hands until its a giant sticky Icky ball.
- Transfer to a well floured surface and kneed for at least 5 minutes adding more flour as you go so it won't stick.
- Put the dough back into the bowl and let it rest covered for at least 30 minutes.
- After it had rested divide the dough into 10 small balls, or 5 if you prefer a bigger tortilla, put it back in the bowl and let it rest for another 10 minutes covered.
- Now get your rolling pin and roll out the balls into discs.
- Heat up a pan, and once its hot throw the tortilla on there and let it cook for a couple of minutes, flip and leave for another minute or so.
- Place on a plate and cover with a clean towel, this should last up to 10 days in the freezer, probably more.
- Guess what I had for lunch.
Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Use a well-floured rolling pin to roll a dough ball into a thin, round tortilla. Place into the hot skillet, and cook until bubbly and golden; flip and continue cooking until golden on the other side. Tortillas can be reheated one at a time in a dry frying pan over a low to medium heat - it won't take long and they will become soft again. You could also use the microwave oven, heating one at a time for a few seconds at a time until warm.
So for the rest of me apologize if there is a step by step that is wrong. Hopefully that is what I gave regarding VERY easy flour tortillas (with pictures!) {.If you have trouble choosing what menu to serve for girlfriend can directly visit the website elcircodelasmoscas{
